WVU to highlight suicide prevention in two events

Dennis Gillan and Dr. John Campo will address suicide prevention in two events this week at WVU.

WHAT: 3 Brothers, 2 Suicides, 1 Powerful Message, sponsored by the WVU Students Events Board

WHO: Dennis Gillan, WVU alumnus

WHERE: Evansdale Crossing, fourth floor; 62 Morrill Way, Morgantown


WHEN:  Tuesday (Sept. 11). 4 p.m.

WHAT: “Suicide Across the Lifespan and the Rural-Urban Continuum,” which will highlight the public health realities of suicide, as well as the mismatch between the enormous societal impact of suicide and our investment in prevention.

WHO: Dr. John Campo 

WHERE: Okey Patteson Auditorium at Health Sciences, 1 Medical Center Drive, Morgantown

An additional event has been added to the 2018-19 line-up since it was originally announced in August.

Patriotism, Politics and the Playing Field” is now planned for Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m in the Mountainlair Ballrooms. The panel discussion with Bob Costas, Kevin Blackistone and Etan Thomas will focus on the intersection of sports, race and media during a time of intense political division and partisanship. The event is presented by the WVU Reed College of Media.
