MEDIA ADVISORY: Statler College to host Engineers Week events

WHAT:  The Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will host a series of events to celebrate National Engineers Week, Monday, Feb. 19-Saturday, Feb. 24. Engineers Week is led by DiscoverE, formerly the National Engineers Week Foundation. Its mission is to sustain and grow a dynamic engineering profession through outreach, education, celebration and volunteerism.

HIGHLIGHTED EVENTS INCLUDE:

Tuesday, Feb. 20: Donuts with the Dean, 8:30 to 10 a.m., Ground Floor, Engineering Sciences Building
Statler College Dean Gene Cilento will be available for interviews.

Wednesday, Feb. 21: Engineering: Powering Your Future, 5 p.m., MRB 113
Jackie Grimes Anderson, BS AE/ME ’08; DO ’17, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine

Thursday, Feb. 22: Paper Airplane Competition, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., ESB Atrium
Sponsored by the WVU Student Events Board

Saturday, Feb. 24: Merit Badge University, 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Merit Badge University is an opportunity for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to work on an array of merit badges, including ones not typically offered at summer camps, including cycling, dentistry, first aid and radio. For locations and more information, contact Dan McNeil at 304.692.5537 (cell).
