WVU, community groups to host screening of ‘Heroin(e)’ documentary and discussion on opioid epidemic

WHAT: WVU is co-sponsoring a community screening of the Netflix original short documentary “Heroin(e),” followed by a moderated panel discussion. School of Public Health Dean Dr. Jeffrey Coben will moderate the discussion. Panelists include Laura Jones, director of Milan Puskar Health Right; Dr. James Berry, WVU associate professor and director of addictions and medical director at the WVU Medicine Chestnut Ridge Center; Dr. Cathy Yura, director of the WVU Collegiate Recovery Program; Edward Preston, Chief of Police in Morgantown; and filmmaker Elaine Sheldon.

WHEN: Thursday (Nov. 16) 6 p.m.

WHERE: The Metropolitan Theater, 371 High Street, Morgantown

WHO: WVU School of Public Health is co-sponsoring this event along with Milan Puskar Health Right, the Monongalia County Health Department, WVU Collegiate Recovery Program and WVU Student Government Association. West Virginia Public Broadcasting is supporting the event.
