WHO: Oxford University law professor Hugh Collins.

WHAT: Collins will deliver this fall’s C. Edwin Baker Lecture for Liberty, Equality and Democracy, “Private Law, Fundamental Rights, and the Rule of Law,” at the West Virginia University College of Law. The Baker Lecture at WVU Law is presented annually in honor of C. Edwin Baker, a leading constitutional law scholar who died in 2009.

WHEN: Oct. 23 at 1 p.m.

WHERE: WVU College of Law, Event Hall.

The lecture will address the impact of fundamental human rights on legal disputes between companies or private individuals, particularly in cases of contract, tort and property law.
