What’s the news?
A community of first generation college students is the latest example of West Virginia University’s commitment to creating the best college experience for all students. The FirstGen Living, Learning, Community joins seven other campus communities that foster “neighborhoods” at WVU. The University will welcome approximately 30 FirstGen students at a kick-off event at 5:30 p.m. August 16 at Dorsey’s Knob. Media members are welcome to attend.

Quotes and Comments
“What I’m looking forward to most living in the FirstGen LLC is creating lifelong friendships with people who I share common interests with.” —Amanda Glaspell, first-year Forest Resource Management student, graduate of Grafton High School

“We are excited to have the FirstGen LLC be a part of our growing living learning community experience here at WVU. These first 30 residents will truly be living out “GoFirst” as they will help us continue to shape an intentional residential experience for our first-generation college students.”—Tyler Gailey, associate director of housing and residence life
