West Virginia University debuts new WVUToday website

WHAT: University Relations has re-launched WVUToday with a new look and several new features. This website is the online news and information hub of West Virginia University serving the general public, media and the Campus community.

WHEN: The transition began Thursday (Feb. 2) and is now complete.

WHERE: wvutoday.wvu.edu

WHO: University Relations/Communications is focused on providing WVU resources to media. With that purpose in mind, we created a central spot within the new WVUToday site called the Media Center. This section is specially designated for journalists – with top stories, media advisories, experts, pitches, photo/video, links to FAQ resources and more.

The link to the Media Center can be found at the top right corner of the WVUToday home page. The direct link is http://wvutoday.wvu.edu/media-center.

We have also developed a “story pitch,” which includes basic information, potential target audience(s) and resources designed to inspire media coverage.

Story pitches will not replace traditional news releases and media advisories, but rather provide us with another tool to let you know about what’s happening at WVU. You’ll find an example here.

We encourage you to bookmark these websites and use them as a resource in your reporting. Please contact April Kaull april.kaull@mail.wvu.edu or John Bolt John.Bolt@mail.wvu.edu with feedback or suggestions.
