When: Various times Feb. 7; noon, Feb. 11.

WVU will kick off an 11-month celebration of its 150th year on February 7, the University’s official founding date. At 12:30 p.m. at the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design, the University’s original academic unit, President Gordon Gee and Dean Daniel Robison will serve two signature ice cream flavors developed for the sesquicentennial, Appalachian Apple Crumble and Land Grant Crunch. At 3 p.m., the celebration continues at the Health Sciences Center Pylons with vice-president Clay Marsh and WVU Medicine CEO Albert Wright joining President Gee for an ice cream social. At 5:30 p.m., President Gee and other campus leaders will serve Coke floats at the Mountainlair’s lower grand staircase.

The Morgantown community will also get a chance to celebrate 150 years and counting at halftime of the Feb. 11 WVU vs. Kansas State basketball game. Tipoff is noon.
