WVU plans Friday bell-ringing ceremony

West Virginia University will hold a bell-ringing ceremony, coordinated by the Office of Campus and Community Life and Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, on Friday (Feb. 16) in remembrance of students Leah Berhanu and Ibrahim Alkammis.

Four finalists to compete Monday in Mountaineer Mascot Cheer-off

Four finalists will don the buckskins and carry the musket Monday (Feb. 12) in competition to be the next West Virginia University Mountaineer Mascot. The cheer-off will be held during the men's basketball game vs. Texas Christian University at 9 p.m. in the WVU Coliseum.

WVU business school program recognized with award from state Hospitality & Travel Association

Just four years after its creation, West Virginia University’s Hospitality and Tourism Management program is receiving national and state accolades for furthering the professionalism of the tourism industry through education and training. The program in the College of Business and Economics was presented with the Excellence in Tourism Education Award at the 8th Annual Hospitality University conference at the Greenbrier Jan. 29.

WVU facilities master update features 16 projects under active consideration

With five years remaining on its current master facilities plan, West Virginia University has 16 projects that are active, or under consideration, across the system, ranging from a residence hall at WVU Tech in Beckley to better facilities at Jackson’s Mill to remodeling of space in Morgantown, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives Rob Alsop said today (Jan. 24).

B&E expands entrepreneurial initiatives with addition of in-house business coach

The West Virginia University College of Business and Economics has strengthened its commitment to entrepreneurship by adding a business coach in the BrickStreet Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Deborah Magyar is the new West Virginia Small Business Development Center business coach at B&E, an addition WVU’s business school dean said reaffirms a dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and transforming the business landscape across the state.
