Community Notice: Off-campus WVU student tests positive for monkeypox

A West Virginia University student tested positive for monkeypox on Wednesday (Sept. 7). The patient, who resides off-campus, has been seen by health care providers, and is currently isolating and recovering. WVU Medicine Student Health will continue to monitor the case.

Thousands of acres of abandoned mining land in West Virginia will get new uses out of part of a large-scale development project Coalfield Development Corporation is leading with support from West Virginia University. The project is among those to receive funding from the U.S. Economic Development Administration as part of the “Build Back Better Regional Challenge.”
