WVU School of Public Health to host panel discussion about harm reduction programs

WHAT: “Harm Reduction and Syringe Services Programs: Public Health, Law Enforcement and Local Perspectives”

WHO: Holly Hagan, professor, New York University College of Global Public Health and co-director, Center for Drug Use and HIV/HCV Research at NYU; Donnie Varnell, investigator with Dare County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Office and former Special Agent-in-Charge, N.C. State Bureau of Investigation Drug Diversion Unit; Dr. William Ramsey, associate vice-president for coordination and logistics and chief collaboration officer for WVU Health Sciences Center. Panelists will be available for brief interviews following the event. 

WHEN: Thursday, Jan. 10, 11 a.m. -1 p.m. 

WHERE: Health Sciences Center North, Rm. 1905

The event is free and open to the public. For those who cannot attend, a live webcast will be available online. The panel event is part of the School of Public Health’s Dean’s Colloquium Series, which features discussions throughout the academic year highlighting current issues and topics in public health.
