Third Annual West Virginia Legislators’ Forum Dinner to focus on moving West Virginia Forward

In advance of the West Virginia Public Education Collaborative’s third annual West Virginia Legislators’ Forum, the WVPEC will host a Kickoff Dinner to convene legislators, policy experts, corporate leaders and educational practitioners. Using West Virginia Forward as a blueprint, speakers will address the current landscape of public education in West Virginia and how best to prepare students for the demands of an evolving workforce environment. The Forum is sponsored by West Virginia University, the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation and numerous community partners.

WVU to host unprecedented “Meet the Presidents” event Dec. 6

Featuring a panel with a wealth of leadership experience at WVU and around the country, this “Meet the Presidents” discussion, part of the David C. Hardesty, Jr. Festival of Ideas, will provide a fascinating look at changes in higher education and how West Virginia University fits into this landscape. The event is Thursday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.

WVU to open Veteran and Military Family Support Headquarters

The WVU Center for Veteran, Military and Family Programs will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its “Veteran and Military Family Support Headquarters” on Friday, Dec. 7. The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Mountainlair’s Vandalia Lounge.
