WVU researchers to develop economic plan for Potomac Highlands region

A group of counties in eastern West Virginia has turned to West Virginia University to develop a strategic action plan for its future. WVU’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research will lead a team of expert organizations who will prepare the plan in an effort to promote economic development in West Virginia’s Potomac Highlands region. The plan will encompass Pendleton, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy and Mineral counties, which compose the Region 8 Planning and Development Council.

A professor of biology at West Virginia University, it all started when he was growing plants in his house as a child and, years later, he chose to focus his career on identifying specific plants and how they thrive in different types of soil.

Leidos gift to support student involvement, research efforts at WVU

The grant was made through the WVU Foundation and will be used to continue research funding on topics like blockchain technology, and population health data management, which attempts to investigate and alleviate the health problems that ail the state.
