Calling it “a win for students, families and the Mountain State,” West Virginia University President Michael T. Benson announced a University retention record during the Board of Governors meeting Friday (Nov. 7). To build on that momentum, Benson unveiled his Strategic Compass, which provides a pathway forward for the University.

The smell of apple butter simmering over a wood fire and the peaceful sound of dulcimer music will soon fill the air at West Virginia University. The 78th annual Mountaineer Week celebration of Appalachian heritage begins Monday (Nov. 3) and continues through Sunday, Nov. 9.

First built at West Virginia University as an experimental project, the iconic Personal Rapid Transit system, or PRT, is marking 50 years of transporting students, faculty and staff, and visitors across the Morgantown Campus.
