How 'Sweet' it is in San José — Mountaineer Meet and Greet planned in California

West Virginia University alumni, friends and fans are invited to attend a NCAA Tournament Mountaineer Meet and Greet hosted by the WVU Alumni Association at 1:30 p.m. PT Thursday (March 23), at The Brit in San José (173 W. Santa Clara St., San José, CA 95113).

The Brit is a fewer than 10-minute walk to the SAP Center.  Appearances by the Pride of West Virginia Pep Band, WVU Cheerleaders and Mountaineer are being planned. No RSVP is required.

Hundreds of WVU alumni, friends and fans are expected to be on hand for the Sweet 16 game versus the Gonzaga Bulldogs which is scheduled to tip off at 4:39 p.m. PT (7:39 p.m. ET) Thursday (March 23).

Should the Mountaineers advance, they will play the winner of the Arizona Wildcats and Xavier Musketeers game on Saturday (March 25) (time TBA).  A similar Meet and Greet is planned three hours prior to tipoff that day, if the Mountaineers advance to the Elite Eight round of the tournament.  Alumni, friends and fans are encouraged to follow the WVU Alumni Association on Facebook and Twitter, @WVUAlumniAssoc, for updates.

Upper level tickets for West Virginia’s appearance in the 2017 NCAA West Regional remain on sale through the Mountaineer Ticket Office to all 2016-17 Mountaineer Athletic Club members and men’s basketball season ticket holders. These upper level tickets will remain on sale until 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday. To order, call 1.800.WVU.GAME. Non-MAC members interested in tickets can join the MAC for as little as $100 to qualify for NCAA West Regional tickets.

Tickets are valid for the Thursday and Saturday sessions of the West Regional and are priced at $250 for upper level. Only American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards will be accepted for payment.

For those not traveling to San Jose, a number of alumni chapters across the country are hosting game watches in their respective areas. WVU’s Sweet 16 game is being televised by TBS.
