MEDIA ADVISORY: WVU fraternities and sororities to participate in Big Greek Day of Service

Who: WVU Office of Greek Life and WVU Center for Service and Learning

What:  Second Annual Big Greek Day of Service

Where: Monongalia and Preston counties

When: Saturday, April 1, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

More than 800 WVU fraternity and sorority members will come together on Saturday (April 1) to provide hands-on service at 15 different sites throughout Monongalia and Preston counties.

Greek organizations were founded on the ideals of scholarship, leadership, brother/sisterhood and service. While WVU fraternities and sororities participate in service throughout the year in various capacities, the BIG Greek Day of Service is an opportunity for all organizations to work together to give back to our community.

Students will provide service at the following agencies and organizations: Arthurdale Heritage, Inc.; American Red Cross, Northeast Chapter; CASA for Kids; Empty Bowls Monongalia; Falling Run Trail Project; Friends of Deckers Creek; In Touch and Concerned, Inc.; Mapleshire Nursing & Rehab Center; Mon County Habitat for Humanity; Morgantown Early Learning Facility (ELF); Mountaineer United Soccer Club; North Elementary School, Sundale Nursing Home; West Virginia Caring; and WVU Core Arboretum.
