WVU students awarded Critical Language Scholarships

Two West Virginia University undergraduate students — James Campbell and Felicia Carrara — are recipients of the U.S. Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship and will study foreign languages abroad this summer.

WVU alumna awarded Rangel Fellowship to pursue foreign service career

West Virginia University alumna and global citizen Giana Loretta is a recipient of the prestigious Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship. The Shinnston native is the second WVU alumnus to secure the prestigious fellowship which provides up to $42,000 annually for two years to students who plan to earn master’s degrees and begin careers in the foreign service.

WVU BOG approves Rule, advances University presidential search

The search for the next West Virginia University president moved forward Monday (May 6) as the WVU Board of Governors unanimously approved BOG Governance Rule 1.3 — Presidential Selection, Contracts and Evaluation, following a 30-day public comment period. The Rule, which will go into effect 15 business days from now, outlines the guiding principles for the selection, employment and evaluation of the University’s president.
