Off campus, he served as an intern with the State of West Virginia Public Defender Services where he was able to gain a better understanding of criminal defense law and establish genuine human connection with a client wrongly accused of murder.
Additionally, Long had the opportunity to study European law and legal systems in Strasbourg, France.
He said his positive experiences as an intern and while studying abroad solidified his passion for a career in law.
He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a three-time Eberly Scholar and the recipient of the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Senior in Political Science.
After graduation, Long will attend the College of Law.
