The West Virginia University Office of Student Organizations Services has changed its name to the Office of Student Activities beginning on Sept. 15.

The name was changed to more accurately reflect the activities of the office within the Division of Student Life.

“We feel this name change is a more accurate fit for the services the office provides to students,” said Barbara Copenhaver-Bailey, assistant vice president for Student Success. “The staff in the Office of Student Activities supports all students and works to engage them and enhance their experience in co-curricular activities at WVU.”

The Office of Student Activities currently oversees more than 400 recognized student organizations and 30 fraternities and sororities, three Greek leadership councils – a total of 1,700 students.

The office provides programming, mentorship and support which promotes retention and success of our students.
