All classes at West Virginia University’s main campus are cancelled for Monday, Feb. 3, due to a heavy snowfall overnight, and winter storm warning for the area through mid-day.

The University will remain open; however, employees are reminded to use caution and good judgment in deciding whether to come to work, said Narvel Weese, vice president for administration and finance. If they are unable to report for work, they should notify their supervisor as soon as possible and prior to the start of the shift.

The WVU Libraries, the Student Recreation Center and the Mountainlair will remain open, as well student dining services. The Personal Rapid Transit and/or buses will also operate, if possible.

Supervisors are asked to work with employees who are unable to report due to the weather conditions. Employees who do not work their full scheduled shift may take annual leave, compensatory time off or, at the supervisor’s discretion, may be permitted to make up those hours. Any questions about scheduling issues should be addressed to an employee’s supervisor. Employees with further questions should call their supervisors.
