West Virginia University’s Personal Rapid Transit system had interrupted service this morning (March 16) due to vandalism on the track between the Beechurst and Engineering stations.

Some construction material from a nearby building site was thrown onto the PRT guideway, causing significant damage. Workers cleaned and repaired the area, and service was restored at 12:45 p.m., according to Hugh Kierig, WVU’s director of Transportation and Parking.

Bus shuttles transported passengers to and from the Walnut, Beechurst and Engineering stations.
