West Virginia University’s College of Business and Economics’ Business Administration Division announces the appointment of three new faculty members.
Dr. David Lee Cale is a teaching instructor, the faculty advisor to the College Ethics Club and a member of the West Virginia University Subcommittee on Sustainability.
He has authored several manuals, workbooks and books including: How to Create a Policy Manual for Your Life, The Kantian Element in the Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics, The Basics of Consequentialism, From Ocean Floor to Mountaintop, and The Old Man’s Cave. He edited and wrote the preface for Reflections from the Mount, a book on the writings of Lillian Gangwere Cale for the Mount De Chantal Visitation Academy in Wheeling.
Cale earned a Ph.D. and MA in philosophy from Duquesne University, an MBA from Wheeling Jesuit University and a BA in political science from the California University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Jerry Carbo is a visiting instructor at the College and proprietor of the Law Offices of Jerry Carbo. In addition to representing plaintiffs in civil rights and West Virginia Human Rights Act claims, he developed a workplace harassment prevention program for clients.
Carbo contributed a chapter, “The Legal and Ethical Issues Surrounding the Employment Relationship of the Multinational Company” to Tomas Hummel’s International Management: Text and Cases. His research interests include workplace bullying, workers rights as human rights and union revitalization. His teaching interests focus on employment law, business and society and labor relations.
He earned a Ph.D. from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, a J.D. from Dickinson School of Law of Penn State University, a MILR from Cornell University School of ILR and a BBA in accounting from Texas Christian University.
Dr. Brad Wagner is a visiting instructor at the College who came to WVU most recently from Colorado. He is an independent Petroleum Landman who performs both property acquisition and develops exploration prospects. For almost three decades, Wagner has performed aerospace/defense and energy exploration in the private sector and started two small business/entrepreneurship programs in academia. His skill sets includes: business development, competitive analysis, market analysis, relationship management, accounting and finance, IT software and hardware, training and development and Six Sigma. His research has been published in Journal of Entrepreneurship Education, Econometer, Journal of Managerial Issues, International Management, and the University of Lincoln Press.
Wagner earned a Ph.D. in strategic management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a MBA in business and a BS in management from the University of Northern Colorado.
