The Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) will resume passenger service Monday, Aug. 8 from 6:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. PRT modernization efforts to replace the automatic train control system will continue into the fall/spring semester.

In recent months, integration of various software modules and testing of the hardware components located along the guideway and inside the PRT vehicle were accomplished. It is anticipated that the automatic train controls replacement modernization will be completed by August 2017.

A number of system testing activities are scheduled between December through March 2017, leading into full-scale testing and commissioning during the summer 2017. Other major activities include: retrofitting the entire PRT fleet with new controls, steel erection along the right side of the guideway and substation replacement all of which will be done through the upcoming year.

Please check the transportation and parking website at http://transportation.wvu.edu/prt/schedule as the schedule may be updated periodically as West Virginia University football kickoff times become available.
