The West Virginia University Career Services Center, in collaboration with the College of Business & Economics, Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, and Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design, is hosting the West Virginia University Employer Summit on June 28 and 29 at the Erickson Alumni Center.

Participating employers will meet campus leaders, plan innovative recruiting and branding strategies, engage with peers, and learn how to become an employer of choice. Attendees will also enjoy touring campus, hearing feedback from our student panel, and networking with faculty and graduate students.

“Employer feedback from the inaugural event was great. This year’s enhanced agenda provides sessions for new and returning participants,” said Sarah Rotruck Glenn, associate director of the WVU Career Services Center. “We are excited to strengthen our industry partnerships and increase career opportunities for our students and alumni.”

More than 80 employers from diverse industries and geographical locations are set to participate in the Summit, including Leidos (sponsor), Deloitte, Eaton, Target, Eastman Chemical Company, PepsiCo, and the Hershey Company.

“We enjoyed hosting our employer partners on campus during last year’s Employer Summit and are enthused about the relationships that have flourished as a result of that event. The academic unit visits on the second day are an excellent way for employers to connect with faculty and staff and learn more about our undergraduate and graduate program offerings for their talent acquisition needs,” said Kellyn Smith, assistant director of the WVU College of Business & Economics Center for Career Development.

Glenn said, “Faculty relationships are critical to successful campus recruitment strategies. The event will enable employers and faculty to discuss: curriculum, ways to connect with students in the classroom, and candidate identification.”

All WVU faculty and graduate students are invited to the Employer Summit Networking Reception on Tuesday, June 28 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Evansdale Crossing Fifth Floor Rooftop Terrace. RSVP is open through June 23 at whoozin.com/GPP-W7N-M9V3.
