The Morgantown Community Orchestra, conducted by Taylor Giorgio and made up of students in WVU’s Community Music Program, will perform a spring concert at the Creative Arts Center on Sunday, May 10.

The concert begins at 6 p.m. in the Antoinette Falbo Theatre and is free and open to the public (donations accepted).

The spring concert will feature a “British Invasion” of music from The Beatles, The Who, and Downton Abbey, as well as music by classical British composers Elgar, Vaughan Williams and Purcell. The program will feature Carrie Sullivan as tuba soloist. A reception, with an opportunity to meet the performers in the orchestra, will immediately follow the concert.

The Morgantown Community Orchestra, the Community Music Program’s largest ensemble, is a group of area amateur and professional musicians, college students, middle school and high school students, who all volunteer to get together, in rehearsal, once a week, to share their love of music-making.

For more information about the concert, contact the College of Creative Arts at (304) 293-4359.
