IHOP Restaurants announced plans on Thursday (April 23) to open a new restaurant on the ground floor of West Virginia University’s new contemporary mixed-use residence hall and apartment complex known as University Park.

The development is a public-private partnership, which will include approximately 1,100 beds as well as WVU and other food services, along with retail development that will benefit both WVU students and the surrounding neighborhood.

The IHOP opening is slated for September of 2015, just in time to welcome students back to a new semester.

The new IHOP restaurant, the second in the Morgantown area, is located within walking distance to WVU’s Health Sciences Campus, Ruby Memorial Hospital, Milan Puskar Stadium, WVU’s College of Law, and WVU’s main transportation hub, Mountaineer Station. The restaurant will accept “Mountie Bountie” and will also offer to-go service.

The new IHOP location is expected to seat approximately 132 people and be open 24 hours every day for WVU students, the Greater Morgantown community and visitors. The restaurant will bring approximately 100 new jobs to the area and will also contribute to the city and county tax base.
