The WVU College of Education and Human Services’ Student Chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children will be working with a visiting special education elementary school class field trip for a day of fun at the WVU Farm on Friday, May 1.

The volunteer “Day at the Farm” event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Scheduled activities for the 30 students from Glen Dale Elementary School in Marshall County include spending the day at the WVU Farm, lunch and a tour of the WVU Coliseum, where participating students will have the opportunity to play basketball with the WVU Basketball Team.

“We all love working with children with disabilities,” said CEC President Kaitlyn Goins. “We want to give these children a memorable experience and really make it possible for them to participate in socializations. The ‘Day at the Farm’ event is going to be really rewarding and fun for them.”

WVU students, faculty and friends are invited to volunteer and participate in the ‘Day at the Farm’ event. To RSVP, donate or for more general information regarding the function contact kgoins1@mix.wvu.edu.
