The city of Memphis will welcome West Virginia University alumni and fans to the 2014 AutoZone Liberty Bowl where the Mountaineers will face the Texas A&M Aggies on Dec. 29.

Those headed to Tennessee for the game will have plenty of fun activities to enjoy, including special Mountaineer events as well as great local attractions.

At 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, the festivities will begin with the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Parade. The Pride of West Virginia, the Mountaineer, WVU Cheerleaders, high school bands and other special groups will parade down the world-famous Beale Street. The Bash on Beale Pep Rally will begin at 5 p.m. at Handy Park on Beale Street. It will be a battle of school spirit as bands and cheerleaders from both WVU and Texas A&M participate in rallying fans for the 56th Annual AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

Following the Pep Rally, at 6 p.m. the WVU Alumni Association, WVU Foundation and Mountaineer Athletic Club invite you to a Mountaineer Meet & Greet at Alfred’s on Beale Street. Get together with fellow Mountaineers at Beale Street’s gold and blue headquarters for live music, giveaways (while supplies last), great food and drink specials.

On game day, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. there will be an AutoZone Liberty Bowl pre-game buffet, indoor tailgate and pep rally at the Pipkin Building and the Creative Arts Building (adjacent to Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium). This event, open to both Mountaineers and Aggies, will provide a buffet of Memphis style BBQ and cold beverages (soft drinks and alcohol). There also will be appearances by both school’s bands, cheerleaders and mascots. Fans can participate in their school’s Team Walk, which conveniently takes place adjacent to the buffet and pep rally. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at WVUSports.com.

Game day parking is available in and around the stadium. Fans can visit the AutoZone Liberty Bowl website to purchase an advanced parking space.

The Mountaineers face off against the Aggies in on Monday, Dec. 29. The game will be televised on ESPN. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT.
