Little goblins, ghosts and witches will soon haunt the West Virginia University Coliseum parking lot.

The WVU Institute of Industrial Engineers will sponsor the annual Trunk-or-Treat event Oct. 31 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the band parking lot next to the Coliseum.

Students from various organizations throughout the University will hand out candy to children from the trunks of their decorated vehicles. Participants are asked to use clear grocery bags as candy bags for the event. WVU’s Trunk-or-Treat is free and open to the community.

In recent years, nearly 1,000 children have attended, dressed in costume to trick-or-treat in a safe and fun environment.

This year’s Trunk-or-Treat will be held in conjunction with the WVU women’s basketball Haunted Hoops exhibition game against Wheeling Jesuit University. The Mountaineers will tipoff at 7 p.m.at the Coliseum. Admission to the game is free.
