West Virginia University jazz musicians will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 7, in the Gladys G. Davis Theatre of the Creative Arts Center.

Directed by Paul Scea, along with students John Posey, Kyung Soo Hwang and Jeremy Carter, the concert will feature eight of the jazz program’s small jazz ensembles. According to Scea, who is director of Jazz Studies at WVU, they will play everything from hard bop to experimental music and there will be several student compositions and arrangements.

The program includes: “Recado Bossa Nova” by Hank Mobley; “Along Came Betty” by Benny Golson; “Procrastinators Meet Tomorrow (Or Maybe Next Week)” by Cody Barcroft; “Lucky Southern” by Keith Jarrett, arr. Louis Falbo; “Bernie’s Tune” by Bernie Miller; “Untitled Original” by Alex Charles; “Footprints” by Wayne Shorter; “Sack of Woe” by Nat Adderely; “Cobra” by John Zorn; “Strollin’” by Horace Silver; “Caminhada” by John Posey; “Firm Roots” by Cedar Walton; and “It’s (Just Talk)” by Pat Metheny.
