Jennifer Nettles’ solo headlining “That Girl” tour is coming to the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center on Feb. 16. Tickets go on sale Monday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m. at the Mountainlair and Creative Arts Center box offices and online at ticketmaster.com.

Jennifer Nettles, half of the platinum-selling duo Sugarland and one of country music’s leading ladies, is touring to support her solo debut album “That Girl” due in stores in January. Nettles’ dynamic vocals, poetic flair and passionately engaging live performances have made her a favorite among music fans of all genres. Her success with Sugarland has netted her a collection of No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, including “It Happens,” “Already Gone,” and “All I Want to Do.” While she has amassed multiple Grammy, Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music awards with Sugarland, she has also collaborated with Lionel Richie (“Hello”), Matt Nathanson (“Run”) and Bon Jovi. Her duet with Bon Jovi, “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” earned her a Grammy for Best Country Collaboration With Vocals.

Nettles’ “That Girl” is produced by Rick Rubin, who has worked with Johnny Cash, the Dixie Chicks and the Avett Brothers. Nettles is writing all of the album’s songs herself, or collaborating with artists like Sara Bareilles and Butch Walker. “I think this album plays to my roots,” says Nettles. “There’s country, gospel ‘70s music, [and] singer-songwriter stuff as well.”

The album’s debut single, also titled “That Girl” is getting rave reviews. The song is being called a spellbinding showcase of Nettles’ smokey vocals. Don’t miss Jennifer Nettles in her debut solo tour, playing songs from her new album and your favorite Jennifer Nettles hits.
