Prepare for your future and the first West Virginia University football game on Friday (Aug. 30) at the Career Services Center’s Career Kick-Off Tailgate Party.

The event will take place on the Mountainlair Plaza from 1-4 p.m., the day before the Mountaineers kickoff the 2013 football season. All students are encouraged to attend the event.

Students can enjoy traditional tailgate food, games, music and prizes while networking with recruiters from Target, US Army, US Navy, Sherwin Williams, PLS, TQL, Snowshoe Mountain Resort, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, among others.

“Hundreds of companies will recruit on campus before the end of September, so students need to start their job search as soon as they return to school. The goal of the Tailgate is to engage students right away so they have time to prepare,” said Sarah Rotruck Glenn, Career Services Center assistant director.

Four flat-screen TVs and 1,000 t-shirts will be given away at the event, as well.

The WVU Career Services Center plans to sponsor the tailgate party annually on the Friday before the first home football game.
