Five finalists for West Virginia University’s vice president for university relations will visit campus next week.

Maryanne Reed, dean of WVU’s P.I. Reed School of Journalism and chair of the search committee, said the committee has worked to identify five outstanding individuals for WVU’s senior marketing and communications officer, and expects a decision to be made on a new vice president by fall.

The finalists will each spend a day on campus, meeting with select groups.

The finalists are:

  • David L. Brond; senior vice president for communications and marketing, Georgia Regents University; Augusta, GA. Brond has a bachelor of arts in economics and geography from Bucknell, a masters of business administration and a masters of health administration, both from Duke University.
  • Sharon L. Martin; assistant vice president of marketing; Purdue University; West Lafayette, IN. Martin has a bachelor of applied arts from Central Michigan University.
  • Melody Oldfield; assistant vice president/director of marketing, University Relations and Marketing; Oregon State University; Corvallis, OR. Oldfield has a bachelor of arts in speech communication from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. She is pursuing a master in integrated marketing communication from WVU.
