West Virginia University students can watch the Mountaineer men’s basketball team’s opening round Big 12 Conference tournament game vs. Texas Tech on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Towers Blue and Gold Ballrooms.

Mountainlair Programming and Special Events, Coca-Cola, Residential Education, and the Mountaineer Maniacs are sponsoring the event, which will feature the game on multiple screens throughout the ballrooms.

Each student who brings two empty cans or bottles to the event will be added to a drawing to win prizes like a Coca-Cola prize pack, a Coca-Cola cooler, a mini fridge, a Coca-Cola couch, a bicycle and Visa gift card up to $150.

The Mountaineer Maniacs will provide free Papa John’s pizza and a Qdoba burrito bar to all students. Coca-Cola is providing free soda to all in attendance.

“Conference tournaments are always an exciting time to be a Mountaineer sports fan. This year, being that it’s our first time competing in the Big 12, it’s much more special and memorable,” said Chris Northrup, executive director of the Mountaineer Maniacs. “I encourage all students to come out and be a part of this great event.”
