Is your wardrobe filled with West Virginia University gear? Do you have a WVU-themed room in your home? Have you been to every home Mountaineer football game since 1980?

You might just be the Ultimate Mountaineer Fan.

As part of Mountaineer Nation Day, a day for Mountaineer fans to show their pride and passion for WVU, on Oct. 6 for the West Virginia football team’s first Big 12 Conference road game vs. Texas, Trademark Licensing is looking for the best WVU fan.

There are Mountaineers across the country who not only wear gold and blue but they bleed it, too. That’s who we’re looking for.

Fans who consider themselves the Ultimate Mountaineer Fan can register for the contest on Facebook. You must enter up to a 150-word essay, up to five photos in an album and up to a one-minute video if you choose. For more specific rules, visit the Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/wvumountaineers. Fans have until Sept. 19 to register before a top 8 finalists are chosen on Sept. 21. From that point, WVU fans across the world can vote for who they think is the Ultimate Mountaineer Fan.

The Ultimate Mountaineer Fan will win two Hail WV or Game Day passes, plus two suite tickets in the alumni box and a parking pass for the Kansas game, courtesy of the WVU Alumni Association. Included with the tickets is a WVU prize pack consisting of a Commemorative WVU Orange Bowl helmet and football, plus the 2012 Official WVU Fan Shirt and other great officially licensed WVU products.

People under the age of 18 are not eligible to win. All non-employees of the state of West Virginia and its subdivisions, agencies, or departments, including West Virginia University, and non-family members of employees of West Virginia University, are eligible to win. Persons considered to be recruitable student-athletes are not eligible to win prize due to NCAA regulations.

WVU employees have a chance to win officially licensed merchandise by submitting photos of themselves or their office to show their Mountaineer spirit. Send photos by Sept. 21 to trademarklicensing@mail.wvu.edu.

WVU students can send photos to trademarklicensing@mail.wvu.edu of their dorm rooms and off-campus housing decked out in WVU memorabilia by Sept. 21. The students with the most pride will have a chance to win officially licensed products, too.

In addition to the contests, WVU is asking fans to register their watch parties for the Texas game at http://mountaineernationday.wvu.edu/. You can search and join watch parties or create your own to show just how many WVU fans gather for games. By registering, you will be entered into a random drawing for officially licensed WVU merchandise.

All winners will receive a limited edition Mountaineer Nation Day t-shirt. The shirt will not be available for retail.
