Come on you old grads, join with us young lads as we paint Pittsburgh “Old Gold & Blue” in celebration of West Virginia University’s appearance in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, March 15.

WVU received a lucky draw, landing a spot in the East Bracket of the tournament to play Gonzaga University at the Consol Energy Center in nearby Pittsburgh. In anticipation of a large following of the Mountaineer faithful, the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the WVU Alumni Association will host a “Mountaineer Meet and Greet” at Double Tree by Hilton Hotel & Suites (One Bigelow Square, Pittsburgh) on Thursday from 5-7 p.m.

The Meet and Greet is free and open to the public. Fans of all ages can enjoy WVU camaraderie, snacks, a cash bar, and appearances by the WVU Pep Band, cheerleaders and Mountaineer mascot. All alumni and friends are welcome.

“Playing in nearby Pittsburgh is a wonderful opportunity for our alumni and fans to celebrate another appearance by WVU in the NCAA Tourney,” said Steve Douglas, president and CEO, WVU Alumni Association. “Our large alumni base in that area, coupled with our loyal fans that travel near and far to watch the Mountaineers play, will enable us to show our support for Coach Huggins and his team.”

If you are in Pittsburgh but aren’t going to the game, join fellow Mountaineers at Pregame (1501 Sarah St., Pittsburgh) for a game watch. Chapters throughout the country will also be hosting watches for the game. Visit http://calendar.wvu.edu for a list of game watches.

Tipoff for the game is set for 7:20 p.m. (March 15) and will be televised on TNT.
