West Virginia University will hold a watch party for the men’s basketball team’s second round Big East Conference tournament game vs. either Connecticut or DePaul.

For those students who don’t have class on Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m., the watch party will be held Wednesday at that time in the Gluck Theatre of the Mountainlair. The WVU Division of Student Affairs, the Mountaineer Maniacs and Coca-Cola sponsor the event.

“Students are encouraged to go to their regularly scheduled classes, but for those students that don’t have class this is a fun opportunity to cheer on the Mountaineers!” said Sabrina Cave, assistant vice president for Student Affairs communications.

Free pizza and drinks will be available for all those who attend. In addition, there will be t-shirts and other giveaway items that include a chance to win eight great prizes from Coca-Cola.

In addition to being able to watch the Mountaineers’ take on the Blue Demons or Huskies on Wednesday, WVU can also take part in Coca-Cola’s Last Student Standing. Four students, the winner from a cornhole competition, the winner from a basketball shootout and two students who bring in the most recycled Coke products will select a prize. Those prizes include: an iPad2, a $300 gift card, a $200 gift card, a $100 gift card, two bicycles, a refrigerator and an electronic dart set.
