The West Virginia University symphonic and concert bands are joining forces to present a spring concert at the Creative Arts Center, Tuesday, April 19.

The program begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Lyell B. Concert Theatre of the Creative Arts Center and will be conducted by John Hendricks III, Dearl J. Drury, Christopher J. Nichter and Allen P. Heath.

The program will consist of several fanfares; works by noted composers Edvard Grieg, Camille Saint-Saens, and Ralph Vaughan Williams; several works based upon images of the sea; and a medley of songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber, including an exciting piece entitled “Ghost Dances.”

The Concert Band is an 85-member ensemble made up of University students, mostly non-music majors. This is the only performance for the Concert Band this spring semester.

The Symphonic Band is a 45-member ensemble, comprised of mostly music majors, and this is their final performance of the semester.
