The Pi Mu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will be officially returning to West Virginia University on April 1.

The public is invited to attend the Resurrection of the Black Phoenix Gold Rising on Friday (April 1) at 10:06 p.m. on the Mountainlair Plaza . The probate is an official proclamation and introduction of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The members will inform the attendees of their history, aims and mottos.

Several Alpha chapters from Ohio State University, West Virginia State, Marshall University and Frostburg University, will be in attendance to celebrate the return of the Pi Mu Chapter, as well as the National Pan-Hellenic Council.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. was founded December 4, 1906 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

The WVU chapter was founded on September 4, 1984, by Big Brother Eddie Karim and the late Brother Anthony Akers after leaving Boston University. It was later put on mortorium by the national chapter.

The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is a social club, literary group and fraternity which develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for communities.

Joseph F. Lewis will serve as the Alpha Advisor, and Kim Dixon will serve as the on-campus advisor.
