West Virginia University tamed the Clemson Tigers and now will take on the Wildcats of Kentucky on Saturday, March 19.

The WVU Alumni Association and Mountaineer Athletic Club will host a “Mountaineer Meet and Greet” two hours prior to tipoff of the game (TBA) at Splitsville Luxury Lanes & Dinner Lounge (615 Channelside Dr., Channelside Bay Plaza) located just a few short blocks from St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa.

The Meet and Greet is free and open to the public. Fans of all ages can enjoy WVU camaraderie, food/drink concessions, free bowling/billiards (limited availability), WVU highlight videos, a complementary gold and blue giveaway (limited number available), and appearances by the WVU Pep Band, cheerleaders and Mountaineer mascot. A parking garage is conveniently located across the street from Splitsville.

“WVU is once again off to a great start in the tournament, and Mountaineer fans have traveled near and far to support the team. It’s great to see alumni and friends coming together to show their gold and blue spirit. We look forward to seeing everyone here in Tampa,” said Steve Douglas, president and CEO, WVU Alumni Association.

Fans can once again stop by Beef ‘O’ Brady’s (2819 S. MacDill Ave.), home of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the WVU Alumni Association, for an informal “Gold & Blue Social” on Friday, March 18. Beef’s will be showing the NCAA Tournament games and WVU highlight videos on 30 televisions. Individuals wearing their best Mountaineer attire that sing along with “Take Me Home, Country Roads” will be rewarded with food and beverage discounts. The gathering is free and open to the public. On street parking is available on MacDill Ave. and side streets adjacent to Beef’s.

Alumni and friends in the Tampa area who don’t have tickets to the game are encouraged to join fellow Mountaineers at Beef’s to watch WVU tackle Kentucky. Alumni chapters throughout the country will also host game watches. For a complete list, visit http://calendar.wvu.edu/alumni/. Alumni and friends may also leave messages for the men’s and women’s team, download pictures/wallpaper and other features via WVU’s tournament page.

The game will be televised on CBS.
