West Virginia University students will have another meal option beginning Monday (March 21).

National fast food chain Chick-Fil-A will begin serving food in the University’s Mountainlair during WVU’s spring break.

“The week will serve as an informal opening and will give employees a chance to get comfortable with running the restaurant,” said Michael Ellington, assistant vice president for Student Affairs.

Chick-Fil-A was chosen to come to WVU after an independent survey found that the restaurant was one of students’ top three choices for food options.

The restaurant will be open Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and will be closed on Sunday. Breakfast and dinner options will be available for students using a meal plan. Mountie Bounty will also be accepted.

Most of Chick-Fil-A’s signature fare will be offered, including its classic Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Deluxe Sandwich and Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich. Salad and chicken nugget options will also be available.

The restaurant will employ WVU students and approximately four full-time staff members to manage operations.
