West Virginia University’s Commuter Student Programs is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive on Monday (March 7).

The drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the main lounge of the WVU Mountaineer Station parking facility, located on Van Voohris Road. WVU Parking Management will provide free parking at the facility for up to six hours to those who present to donate blood.

To be eligible to donate participants must be healthy, at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and may not have given whole blood in the past 56 days or a double red cell donation in the last 112 days. You may not give blood if you have received a Red Cross notification asking you not to do so. Please bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of government-issued ID when you come to donate.

Volunteers are also needed to help staff the blood drive.

Donors are encouraged to register to donate beforehand at http://www.givelife.org/index.cfm?group=registration&hlc=wvucommuter&hostlookupcode=wvucommuter. Walk-ins are welcome.
