West Virginia University journalism students in the Public Relations Student Society of America will hold their second annual fashion show at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 10 in the Mountainlair Ballroom. Proceeds from “Cupid, Clothes, & Community” will be donated to the Morgantown Boys and Girls Club.

Local retail stores such as Maurices, Altered Ego, Coni & Franc and the Gap are participating in the event. In addition, students from the WVU College of Creative Arts’ Division of Art and Design will be displaying their work. Clothing will be modeled by WVU students.

Dave Slusarick, the 2010 Mr. Mountaineer, will serve as emcee for the event.

“I think that this is a wonderful opportunity for PRSSA to give back to the community, and working with the Boys and Girls Club is an honor for us since they have such a positive influence in the lives of young people,” said Christina Gnozzo, executive of PRSSA.

PRSSA will have a booth in the Mountainlair on Feb. 8-10 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., where tickets can be purchased for $3. Tickets will also be sold at the door on the day of the event for $5.

The WVU PRSSA is a student-run organization within the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism, as well as a local chapter of the national organization that aids in the advancement of future public relations professionals. The organization is one of the six founding chapters and focuses on community service and promoting other organizations throughout the Morgantown area. The group has general meetings open for new members every Monday at 4:30 p.m. in 103 Martin Hall.
