Works by music students and faculty at West Virginia University will be featured during a New Music Concert at the Creative Arts Center, Friday (Nov. 12).

The free event begins at 8:15 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A) and will feature new works by students Zackery Wilson, Charles Perryman and Matthew Jackfert, as well as by music professor Andrew Kohn.

The full program includes: “A Soul Still Yearns” by student Zackery Wilson, performed by the WVU Graduate String Quartet; “Gobo” by Russell Pinkston, professor of music at the University of Texas, Austin, performed by music professor Cynthia Anderson, oboe, plus CD playback; “Minimus of Morgantown” by music professor Andrew Kohn, performed by Kohn, bass, and Anderson, oboe; “Clarity” by student Charles Perryman, performed by music student Amanda Harman, bassoon, plus interactive electronics; and “Persistence of Vision,” by student Matthew Jackfert, performed by music student Wei Tuck Chan, piano, plus CD playback.
