West Virginia University is encouraging students to try something new at the University’s second annual Try-It event.

On Saturday, Oct. 16 from 12-5 p.m., WELL WVU: The Student’s Center of Health will be showcasing the wide array of fun, outdoor activities that the state and University have to offer.

Students will have the chance to try kayaking, biking, canoeing, yoga and many other fun activities all free of charge. Students will also have a chance to drive a golf cart and navigate an obstacle course wearing “drunk goggles”.

WVU’s Dining Services will be providing healthy foods for students to try and providing tips on how to stay healthy in the cafeteria.

“The mission of WELL WVU is to foster the complete well being of our students through health care education, promotion and related services,” said Colleen Harshbarger, director of student health and wellness. “Many students don’t know that they can rent a kayak or bike at the recreation center anytime they’d like, or that they have access to healthy foods in the dining hall. This event encourages students to take advantage of the programs and services that support their well-being.”

The event will be held next to Stansbury Hall in lot 7, with easy rail trail access for students. More information about the Try-It event is available at http://well.wvu.edu .
