West Virginia University’s WELL WVU Student Health will begin offering the flu vaccine in September.

The seasonal and H1N1 immunization will be offered in a single combined vaccination. Student Health will be offering the vaccine at a cost of $15 to WVU students, staff and faculty.

Priority will be given to students, but the vaccines will be provided to faculty and staff as supplies allow.

Everyone is required to show their WVU ID.

Distribution sites/dates are as follows:

Health Sciences Center:

• Sept. 29, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., John Jones Conference Center; Health Sciences students only.
• Sept. 30, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., John Jones Conference Center; Health Sciences students, staff and faculty are eligible.

Distribution will be on a first come, first serve basis. No appointments will be made.

All WVU students, staff and faculty:

• Oct. 6, 3-7 p.m., Student Recreation Center students only.
• Oct. 12, 3-7 p.m., Student Recreation Center; all WVU students, staff and faculty are welcome.

A limited quantity of vaccines will be available through the University. Online sign up reservation times will be available for the Oct. 6 clinic beginning on Oct. 1 and for the Oct. 12 clinic beginning on Oct. 7 on the WELL WVU website at http://well.wvu.edu .

Most medical insurances, including the West Virginia Public Employees Insurance Agency, cover the cost of influenza immunizations. Employees insured by PEIA must submit a receipt along with a medical claim form to seek reimbursement. Those with other medical insurance should contact their provider for instructions.
