In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, members of West Virginia University’s Women Against Rape will hand out coasters that test for date rape drugs while reminding students to celebrate the end of the semester safely.

Each coaster contains two test areas that react with a visible color change if it comes in contact with a drink spiked with a major date rape drug like GHB and Ketamine.

WAR members will be in the Mountainlair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday to distribute the coasters for free and encourage students to sign up for WAR’s newsletter. Information about sexual assault and the PROTECT self defense class will also be available.

WAR is a new student organization at WVU that aims to increase sexual assault awareness and promote free self-defense classes offered by the University Police Department.
