How much trust do you place in Wikipedia? Where do you go when tasked with writing a paper for class? The WVU Libraries want to know.

The WVU Libraries are participating in a national study, conducted by Project Information Literacy, to learn how U.S. college students conduct research in the digital age.

This week, PIL will send an invitation to participate in a web-based survey to 10,000 randomly selected WVU sophomores, juniors and seniors.

The survey consists of 22 questions and takes 10-15 minutes to complete. Participants can reply from April 6-20. All those who respond will have their names entered into a drawing for a $150 Amazon.com gift card.

Questions will focus on how students find, evaluate and integrate research sources used for course-related and everyday life research. PIL hopes to receive a sample of respondents from more than 30 colleges and universities across the nation. For an overview of the national project, visit http://projectinfolit.org/.

PIL, funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, is based at the University of Washington and is in its third and final year.
