There will be chocolate and other sweets coupled with stories of devotion, romance and love – it is the perfect pre-Valentines Day combination.

English Associate Professor and Dean of Students David Stewart will present “Love Poetry” on Thursday, Feb. 11 in the lounge of Elizabeth Moore Hall from 6-8 p.m.

Stewart, a native of Peterborough, England, received his doctorate in English from the University of Oxford. He came to WVU in 1991 as an assistant professor of English, teaching British literature, with a specialty in English Romanticism and the work of poet William Blake.

“This is a great chance for students to interact with each other, relax and hear some beautiful poetry by some outstanding poets,” Stewart said.

H’ordeurves and dessert will be served. The free program is open to all WVU students.

The first 40 students to RSVP to Kelli Eisentrout at Kelli.Eisentrout@mail.wvu.edu will be admitted. Students can bring a guest, but must let Eisentrout know when they respond.

The presentation is sponsored by WVU Student Affairs Sophomore/Junior Year Experience initiative.
