WVU collaboration strives to overcome childhood obesity in the state

A group of West Virginia University researchers is working to change the narrative on childhood obesity and physical inactivity in the Mountain State. The West Virginia Coronary Artery Risk Detection in Appalachian Communities Project efforts in multiple West Virginia counties is attempting to turn the tide on childhood obesity numbers, as recently reported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

WVU will offer additional in-person instruction this spring

West Virginia University will offer additional in-person and hybrid classes during the spring 2021 semester, which will begin on January 19. The University will continue its strategy from the fall of reducing some classroom density and moving others online to slow the spread of COVID-19. As with this fall, the University will continually monitor the local public health situation and adjust as necessary.

Backyard Brawl moved to 2023-24 season

The men's basketball game between West Virginia University and the University of Pittsburgh that was scheduled to take place this season in Morgantown has been rescheduled to the 2023-24 season.

Starbucks at The Market @ UPlace temporarily closed due to COVID-19 exposure

The Starbucks location at The Market @ UPlace temporarily closed today (Oct. 15) after West Virginia University was notified of a COVID-19 exposure at the storefront. WVU immediately implemented its safety protocols, initiating a deep cleaning of the space. Starbucks plans to reopen on Sunday, Oct. 25.
