Gee Mail: A hip new year for West Virginia University

In his first Gee Mail of 2020, West Virginia University President Gordon Gee draws on the best of 2019 to move us into a new year of purpose.

Gee welcomes students, faculty and staff back to campus as he counts down his Top 10 highlights of 2019 – from the hiring of football coach Neal Brown to medical breakthroughs at WVU to pop culture -- with an eye on the possibilities ahead in 2020.

“As we end 2019 on a high note, we must stretch that into the new year,” Gee said. “I believe that a new year brings renewed courage, so let’s celebrate our successes, but let us also think about how we can carve out new paths of discovery and purpose at West Virginia University in 2020.”

Gee also touches on his recent hip replacement surgery in the video in typical, lighthearted Gee fashion.
